Easter Sunday Sorrow: Blasts Hit Churches, Hotels In Sri Lanka

Report says that a coordinated explosions have hit a number of Churches, some hotels and more than 138 people were killed, while more than 400 were injured across Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday morning.

The blasts occured at churches in Kochchikade, Negombo and Batticaloa, targeted worshippers as they attended Easter services.

According to state broadcaster SLRC, additional blasts ripped through three hotels, The Shangri La, Cinnamon Grand and Kingsbury Hotel, all in the capital, Colombo.

Hospital sources say that bodies of the dead and casualties are currently at the Colombo National Hospital.

The Sri Lankan MP Harsha de Silva tweeted about the sad incident;

However, no group has yet said it was responsible.
