Captain Marvel now ranks as the 10th-biggest comic-book release of all time, surpassing the lifetime hauls of superhero movies such as Thor: Ragnarok ($854 million), Venom ($855 million), and Spider-Man: Homecoming ($880 million).
According to Variety ,Captain Marvel brought in an astounding $87 million globally this past weekend, which includes $52 million from international regions. The Brie Larson starring origin story has now garnered $589 million overseas for a global haul of $910 million.
At the domestic box office, Captain Marvel brought in $35 million during its third weekend, bringing the North American haul to $320 million. While the domestic numbers aren’t on par with Black Panther, the global pull has placed Carol Danvers right up there with T’Challa.
Although, these numbers are impressive, but we all know that next month’s Avengers: Endgame will take the cake as the biggest comic book release of all time.
