Last month, there were reports that Selena Gomez entered a mental facility after suffering an emotional breakdown.
Apparently, Selena had to be rushed to the hospital last month when her white blood cells were low following her kidney transplant. She was then admitted to the hospital for the second time and after being denied when trying to go home, she freaked out and tried to rip IV’s out of her arm forcing her psychiatric facility admission.
New reports from TMZ now say the singer has been released from the East Coast psychiatric and will be laying low for some time.
Sources tell the publication that Selena was treated with dialectical behavior therapy.
“DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) has completely changed my life,” Selena told Vogue last year when openly discussing mental health. “I wish more people would talk about therapy. We girls, we’re taught to be almost too resilient, to be strong and sexy and cool and laid-back, the girl who’s down. We also need to feel allowed to fall apart.”
Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy designed to help people suffering from borderline personality disorder.
