On Monday (January 28), the Recording Academy officially declared a tweet that allegedly leaked some of the 2019 Grammy winners as fake news.
The original tweets which is no longer on the internet was immediately obtained by TMH. It made some pretty-pretty-pretty bold claims…like Taylor Swift winning Best Pop Album and “Shallow” winning Song of the Year. Check below;
Among the list are Drake’s “God’s Plan,” Travis Scott’s Astroworld, Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “All The Stars,” Cardi B, and H.E.R. were the big hip-hop winners.
Also, the post even goes as far as showing a video of the Grammy website confirming these wins
However, a Recording Academy spokesperson dismissed the leaked list. He says
“There is no legitimacy to this. Grammy Awards results are not shared, even with Recording Academy staff members, until the day of the Grammy Awards ceremony, when names of the recipients are delivered by [accounting firm] Deloitte in sealed envelopes.”
This year’s Awards will air live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 10, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and so we will know the official winners.
